Games Revolted, an independent developer from Croatia, launched the free public beta for their soon to be early access online strategy card game Phageborn.

Featuring a dual resource system, twin-lane battleground, 2v2 multiplayer mode and a wide variety of unlockable avatars, Phageborn has a mountain of features for genre fanatics. In addition, the story features many different and dark fantasy worlds. However, the events within the Phageborn digital card game occur in the realm of Issilith that was destroyed by an unknown evil.

The story itself starts at the beginning of time when The Alpha Creator, a godlike entity was born who could shape and create matter thus building the universe. Existing purely in a dimension where none can enter or leave, The Alpha Creator cloned himself and split his powers among them to fulfill his vision.

However, The Alpha Creator nor his clones are perfect and can make mistakes. Some of which could not be fixed. A solution known as The Phage was presented, or rather better known as the god of the apocalypse. The Phage could erase realms in the blink of an eye ending lives and entire planets.

While the other clones had flaws, The Phage, was a perfect clone of The Alpha Creator. The other clones decided their idea of a perfect universe differed from both and destroyed The Phage. Killing an immortal is not an easy task and with that The Phage’s essence survived and wandered the universe in search of a host. Many died and few survived with those that did becoming the Phageborn.

We’ve been conceptualizing and developing Phageborn for nearly four years now, and the fact that we are now in Open Beta is downright thrilling. We are very much looking for feedback from fans of this genre to help guide us through the finishing touches in Early Access, so that we can make Phageborn as close to perfect as possible for the full launch.

In the game players command a robust team of champions as they work to prove their deck-building and decision-making skills. This is done in dynamic turn-based duels on the dark battlefields of the unforgiving ruins of Issilith. Combines with the dual resource system and twin-lane battlegrounds, Phageborn presents itself as an online deep strategic card game with interesting lore and beautiful visuals.

Phageborn is now hosting a free open public beta ahead of their early access launch on Steam. When the game launches into early access later this year, the game will be priced at $14.99 USD. Games Revolted is game development group based out of Zagrab, Croatia. The team was formed in August 2015 when four friends began meeting up to expand upon an idea to produce something great. Shortly after, Games Revolted became an indie studio that has over 15 members of passionate gamers.
